Introduction to this page

Whenever you hear about Iowa what do you imagine? Do you envision never ending views of corn? Do you see in your minds eye nothing but flat featureless prairie lands? Well this blog hopefully will dispel those myths.

Iowa is a state of tremendous diversity of sights, landscapes, people, and cultures. It is also home to many major businesses and corporations. Maybe you have heard of a few of them ADM, Pepsi-co, General Mills , Quaker Oats...to name just a few. Of course, since Iowa is a major producer of corn and soy, it is natural that these companies process these agricultural products.

Iowa is also home to some of the worlds most renown educational institutions. These facilities graduates are in demand worldwide based on their levels of educations and the wide and complex variety of fields of study including medicine, microbiology, robotics, and sociology. Probable the best known is the U of I or it is also called University of Iowa located in Iowa City Iowa. It is primarily known for, not only its sports programs GO HAWKS!!!, but their medical school and nursing programs are top notch and fully accredited.

Out door activities are varied and endless. Do you like hunting? Iowa has tremendous deer and foul hunting opportunities including quail, pheasant, and wild turkey. Do you like fishing? Well Iowa offers lake, river, stream, and pond opportunities. Species found here include bluegill, crappie, large mouth and small mouth bass, white bass, stripe bass, catfish of multiple species, sauger, walleye, gar, carp, and trout. If neither of those strike your fancy then how about partaking of over 5,000 miles of hiking and biking trails.

Employment opportunities are also widely available. These include both skilled and unskilled positions. no matter what your background is, you have a more than excellent chance of finding work. Are you a physician or a nurse?...no issues in finding work. Or do you prefer the service industry?...again lots of work ranging from fast food to supply warehouses that support stores such as JC Pennys ans Kohls.
